“Is there fish in this?” Your server shouldn’t have to guess.
Servers pick the guest’s allergies on their phone and see which dishes are free from them. Open a dish to see what it contains and where each allergen comes from, down to the sauce. The answer isn’t only in the chef’s head any more.

The floor is where the answer gets lost.
Guests ask the server. The server asks the chef, or guesses. Studies of US restaurants show how often that hand-off fails.
- 1 in 3restaurant servers in a CDC study had food allergy training at their restaurant.CDC, Restaurant Food Allergy Practices, 2017
- 54%of allergic reactions in US restaurants in one study happened even though the guest had told the staff.Oriel et al., Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice

Servers see
- Which dishes are free from the guest’s allergies, and which contain them.
- Where each allergen comes from, down to the ingredient and the batch it sits in.
- What’s in a dish, by name: its ingredients and its batches.
Servers don’t see
- Amounts and steps. They don’t need them at the table.
- A message box or a Save button. Front of house can look, not change.
It backs up your allergen procedure. It doesn’t replace it, and the screen reminds servers to tell the kitchen about every allergy.
