More places now ask for allergens in writing.

Rules differ by state, county and city, so check with your local health department. The direction is clear: guests and inspectors expect the answer written down.

  • 2022The FDA Food Code, a model that states and cities can adopt, calls for telling guests in writing which major food allergens are in unpackaged food.FDA, the 2022 Food Code and sesame

On any phone, for the whole team. Filtered to the menu you’re serving.

The Allergens page shows one grid: your dishes down the side, the nine across. Pick a menu, or search for a dish. Each square says Contains or Free from. A dish with none of the nine reads Free from all nine.

It’s read only, built mainly for front of house. Nobody changes a dish from here by accident.

  • Made from your recipes. Nobody types a row. Each one comes from the saved dish.
  • Always the current recipe. Change a sauce and save, and the grid follows.

Paper when you need it. Four downloads, made when you ask.

Each download is made from your saved dishes at the moment you ask for it, so a fresh printout is one tap away. Hand the grid to the host stand, pin a dish PDF on the line, or open the spreadsheet in any spreadsheet app.

What the grid does and doesn’t say.

  • It says what each dish contains from the FDA Big 9, as your recipes record it.
  • It doesn’t say anything about allergens beyond the nine, or about gluten from barley or rye.
  • It doesn’t replace your allergen procedure. It backs it up with one consistent answer.
